Total U-20 AFCON Qualifiers: Junior Lions Seek Qualification

 The team will play return leg qualifier against the Uganda Hippos today May 18, 2018 at the Yaounde Omnisports Stadium.

The national U-20 football squad will play against the Hippos of Uganda in the return leg qualifier against the Uganda Hippos today May 18, 2018 at the Yaounde Omnisports Stadium at 3:00 p.m.

The encounter will be the end of the second round qualifier for the 21st edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in that category.

Today’s game promises to be tough for both teams as each side will be seeking for qualification into the third and last round. In the first leg in Uganda on May 12, 2018, Cameroon lost to the Uganda Hippos 0-1. The lone goal of the encounter was scored by Steven Mukwala at the 44th minute.

Ahead of today’s encounter coach Christophe Ousmanou and his team had been working out strategies in their hideout in Yaounde in order to avoid the mistakes of the away leg. The training sessions focused mostly on ball control and passes.

To move on to the third round Cameroon will need to score two goals without conceding any goal. Coach Christophe Ousmanou will be counting on top stars like Ignatius Ganago, who plays for French Ligue 1 side, OGC Nice, home based players like Moise Sakava and Ako, among others.

After the defeat in the away leg in Uganda, Christophe Ousmanou and his boys are leaving nothing to chance in order to secure a win.
