t was organized by the Ministry of Communication and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) within the framework of a partnership between the latter and REJODEC. Suzanne Zogo, Sub Director of the Government Action Promotion Department in the Ministry of Communication who doubles the UNICEF focal point in the Ministry, coordinated the working sessions.

She urged members of REJODEC to reinforce advocacy in the area of promotion and protection of children’s rights. On his part, Jules Elobo, President of the network said a field trip is scheduled to take place after the training and it is expected that the production of journalists would be of improved quality.
Outlining the major aspects of the 2018/2019 action plan of the grouping, he noted community radio stations would be actively involved in the activities of the network by virtue of the fact that they are closer to people in rural areas.
The activities of the network align with UNICEF’s humanitarian action plan which focuses on birth registration, nutrition, vaccination, education, as well as the health and protection of children and adolescents.
On hand for the closing of the seminar was Ahmadou Bello, Director of General Administration in the Ministry of Communication and Head of the MINCOM- UNICEF Partnership Project.
