Youssoufa Daouda Laid to Rest

The late Minister was buried in strict Muslim tradition on Friday at the Bois des Singes cemetery in Douala.

Minster of Plan and Regional Development, Youssoufa Daouda who died in a ghastly motor accident on the Douala- Yaounde highway, were laid to rest on Friday September 14th at the Bois des singes cemetery in Douala.

The indication of his magnitude was the number of Imams that conducted the prayers in turns. They included the Grand Imam of Douala, Nkongsamba, New Bell II and a host of others.

Prominent among those present at the burial was the personal representative of the Head of State, Grégoire Owona, the Minister of Finance, Louis Paul Motaze, the General Manager of SONARA, Ibrahim Talba Malla, the business magnet, Baba Danpullo and the top administrative and political brass of the Littoral Region.

Youssoufa Daouda was born in September 1942 in Garoua. He attended the local primary and secondary schools before moving over to Lycée Leclerc Yaounde where he obtained a ‘baccalaureat’ in experimental sciences in 1962. That same year he entered the ‘Ecole Fédérale Supérieure d’Agriculture’ in Nkolbisson- Yaounde where he graduated four years later as an agric technician.
