Adamaoua: Akere Muna Promises Anti-Graft Drive

This was during a campaign rally at the ‘Stade Cicam in Douala on Thursday.

The presidential candidate for the PNP party, Akere Muna has promised that he would go for embezzled State funds in foreign banks if elected on October 7. He said he has experience tracking stolen funds having worked with Transparency International. It is for this reason, he said that he declared his assets and challenged the other candidates to do same. He also called on the other candidates to publish their medical and tax records. Akere promised transparency in administration saying people will know the prices of raw materials exploited in the country. He said he will place the interest of the people at the centre of government action and promote the respect for human rights.

In a public address that was also translated by sign language, Akere said under his administration the youths will be given a chance to govern saying “youths will not be on the menu but on the table”. For economic reasons, Akere Muna said if elected he will fly on board commercial flights, promote social justice by giving equal opportunities to all without consideration of origin or class. He presented the ballot paper of his party to the crowd that turned out, calling on them to cast it in the ballot box on October 7 to put mark the beginning of a new Cameroon.
