MINREX : Diplomatic Successes Celebrated

This was in the course of New Year Wishes ceremony given the Minister of External Relations on January 17, 2019 by staff of his Ministry.

High points recorded in the diplomacy of Cameroon in the course of 2018 and the beginning of this year were on January 17, 2019 highlighted during the presentation of New Year Wishes to the Minister of External Relations, Lejeune Mbella Mbella, together with the Minister Delegates in charge of Relations with the Islamic World, Adoum Gargoum and the Commonwealth, Felix Mbayu.

Minister Mbella Mbella in his remarks while highlighting some of the diplomatic successes registered said priority areas for his Ministry for 2019 will be mobilising efforts to achieve the directives of the ‘Greater Opportunities’ mandate of the Head of State. He mentioned the election of Cameroon into the United Nations Human Rights Council which takes effect this 2019. The Minister recalled the different structured political dialogues organised with partners with the aim of improving relations, growth and job creation. Minister Mbella Mbella prescribed solidarity and punctuality for his staff and urged them to participate in promoting the image of the country.

In a balance sheet presented by the Director of the Department of La Francophonie who is interim Secretary General, Laurent Tchandeu, Cameroon made significant progress in its diplomatic activities of 2018 such as the effective opening of Cameroon’s Embassy in Ankara, Turkey, Consular Posts in Dubai in the United Arab Emirates, Ouesso in Congo and Nairobi in Kenya.
