50 Eco-guards End Pre-military Trainig

Some 50 Eco-guards and Game guards from the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife have received diplomas and epaulletes after completing 45 days of pre-military training and re-cycling for senior forestry guards (Ingineers) at the Koutaba military training facility.

The ceremony that took place in Koutaba from the 4-5, February, 2019, was presided at by the Minister of Forestry and Wildlife,Jules Doret Ndongo,in the presence of Major General Mpah Phillippe, in charge of military academics and training centres in Cameroon.

On day one which took Minister Jules Doret Ndongo to the « Raffle-range » or practical centre, situated some10 km on the outskirts of Koutaba, the Minister and his entourage had the opprtunity to watch the Eco-guards trainnees demonstrate their vitality in different aspects of the military training they acquired for 45 days.

Here the trainees exhibited their, shooting practicals and combating impunity,what their trainers revealed is a stage that will help the Eco- guards in their practical actions in the field. Speaking at the end of the practical phase on day one, Minister Jules Doret Ndongo, said he was mildly overwhelmed by the consistency in the practical exhibition by the Eco-guards trainees, adding that what is left is the implemention phase to check insecurity caused by poachers in the field.
