Helen Galega Feh Kwanga is the new Secretary General of the Ministry of Justice. She was appointed by the President of the Republic in a decree on June 30, 2020. Born in July 1963, Helen Galrga is a magistrate by profession. Going by her academic profile, she has a maîtrise in International Human Rights Law with distinction from the University of Essex, United Kingdom in 2003. Between 1987 and 1989, she studied at the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM), graduating with a diploma in Magistracy after obtaining a maîtrise in English Private Law from the then University of Yaounde.
Her professional career indicates a mastery in human rights and international cooperation. From July 5, 2018 till date, she has been the Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the National School of Administration and Magistracy. Prior to her appointment as Secretary General at the Ministry of Justice, she was Director of Human Rights and International Cooperation in the ministry, a post she occupied since 2012. She joined the Ministry of Justice in 1989 and has since then occupied several positions amongst which are; Service Head for Criminal Record, Service Head for International Cooperation and Sub-Director for International Cooperation. Helen Galega is a member of the National Committee on Appeals by Refugees since 2012.
