Internal Auditors: Government Launches Certification Process
The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Supreme State Audit opened a two-day conference in Yaounde on December 15, 2016.
Internal Auditors and Inspectors General of public establishments are meeting in Yaounde within the framework of a conference to launch the public internal auditors’ certification process. Jointly organised by the Ministry of Finance and the Supreme Audit Office, the conference focuses on the advantages and the added value of certification to the auditing profession.
The Minister Delegate at the Presidency in charge of Supreme State Audit, Mbah Acha Rose Fomundam while opening the conference yesterday December 15, 2016, said internal audit was an important instrument in an organisation. It evaluates the performance of public entities as well as ensures the proper use of public resources. She stated that the certification process was a way of striving for professionalising the sector. “Internal Auditors play an advisory role to an organisation.
They also bring stability to public establishment,” Minister Acha Rose disclosed. The Minister pointed out that earning a certification is like having a key to the myriad of opportunities the profession of internal auditing offers. It opens doors and help practitioners earn credibility and respect which intern impact financial governance in public institutions, it was disclosed.
