World Volleyball Championships: Three Teams Already Qualified

The U21 (men), U19 (men) and the U18 women’s teams have picked up their tickets for the competition in their different categories.

Cameroon’s junior volleyball teams are on top of Africa. While waiting for the senior men and Women’s African Volleyball Championships billed for this summer, the U21 (men) U19 (men) and the U18 women’s teams will represent the country at the upcoming World Championships in their different categories. The teams qualified for the World Championships during continental competitions that took place recently.

Cameroon already has three categories that will take part in the competition. The national men’s junior team took the lead during the African Volleyball Championship in Cairo, Egypt in February 2021. The team led by Albert Leebouang won silver winning two matches against Morocco and the Democratic Republic of Congo and one defeat against the host country Egypt. From the victory, Cameroon finished second on the classification table and qualified for the World Championship for the first time in that category. In the African U18 (women) and U19 (men) Volleyball Championships that took place in Abuja, Nigeria from March 1 to 9, 2021 the national cadet volleyball teams put up excellent performances. In the women’s category, the national U18 women’s team defeated Nigeria winning all three marches without conceding any set.
