Cameroon-Malawi : Newcomers Polish Skills

For the past three days Narcisse Nlend, Lambert Gueme and Junior Kotto are training with the national team ahead of the Friday’s 2022 World Cup qualifier against Malawi.

As the countdown to the 2022 World Cup qualifier against the Flames of Malawi narrows, newcomers are set to prove their worth during the encounter. They are training at the Olembe Annex Stadium under the supervision of the head coach Antonio Conceiçao. It is the first time the players are being called to join the national team and they will be part of the preparation for the first two days of qualifying for the World Cup. 
Samuel Junior Kotto is one of the newcomers in the group. The APEJES of Mfou defender caught the attention of Coach Antonio Conceiçao who watched his performance this season. The goal scoring defender who scored four goals in 15 appearances this season for APEJES of Mfou was part of the U-20 team that participated in the 2021 U-20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament in Mauritania. Another newcomer, Lambert Gueme Araina is in the group. The Coton Sport of Garoua lead striker is coming into the national team for the first time. Araina has worked hard this season scoring 19 goals in 24 appearances. The young striker finished the CAF Confederations Cup campaign with seven goals and three assists in 16 games. Araina’s breakthrough this season has made him attractive to clubs across Europe and on the continent.
