Aisha Buhari Tournament : Lionesses Out After Two Defeats

They were beaten by Morocco and Ghana at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Lagos.

Two matches and two defeats is the balance sheet of the Indomitable Lionesse participation at the first edition of the Aisha Buhari Tournament that ended in Lagos, Nigeria, yesterday September 21, 2021. The Lionesses lost to the Black Queens of Ghana 2-0 in their second group B game at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan, Lagos on Monday, September 20, 2021. The defeat put an end to their participation in the tournament. The Black Queens’ goals were scored by Princela Adubea (59th minute) and Vivian Adjei Konadu (88th minute). It wasn’t an easy game for the Lionesses as Coach Gabrielle Zabo made three changes to save the team. Goalkeeper, Bawow Ange Gabrielle replaced Carole Mimboe in the goal while Eliane Aimee Bibout and Berthe Reinette Abega came in for Bella Rose and Jeannette Grace Ngock Yango.
