This was during the competition’s award ceremony which held on Wednesday October 13, 2021 in Yaounde.
Stakeholders who distinguished themselves at the 2021 season of Cameroon’s female football top tier championship known as the Guinness Super League which is at its first edition have just seen their efforts recognised. A ceremony known as the Guinness Super League Awards to hand trophies to these meritorious laureates classified in several categories held on October 13, 2021 in Yaounde.
Prior to the handing over of awards, the President of the Cameroon Female Football League, Céline Eko, appreciated the efforts of each and every actor and promised that all will be done to improve on the upcoming season. Félicité Ngangue, Commercial Director of the sponsor, took the floor to elaborate on her company’s efforts in supporting dreams. She pledged that the sponsor will continue to accompany the Guinness Super League and proceed to put in place support programmes for female journalists accompanying them in the project.
After the speeches, stakeholders dived to the awards proper. At the end, Awa FC and Éclair Football Filles seemed to have been the most prestigious celebrants. The awards of super scorer and super player went to Eliane Bibout and Fatima Kome both from Éclair of Sa’a. Apart from recognising the players, trainers, referees, even club presidents were equally rewarded. Coach Hassan Ibrahim Balla of Awa FC won the award of best coach meanwhile his club president, Thomas Awa won the prize of Best Club President in the Dream Club category.
Worth mentioning is the fact that the ceremony was attended by top football dignitaries, stakeholders of Guinness Cameroon, amongst others. It was equally spiced by dance and musical performances.
