Yaounde Judo African Open : Competition Begins Today

Some 13 countries from Africa and Europe are expected to take part in the competition that will run till November 8, 2021.

It will be an exciting weekend for lovers of judo in Africa and the world. The fifth edition of the Yaounde Judo African Open will kick off at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex today November 5, 2021. The competition is organised by the Cameroon Judo Federation (FECAJUDO) in collaboration with the International Judo Federation. Some 13 countries from Africa and Europe are expected to take part in the competition that will run till November 8, 2021. These are the DR Congo, Kenya, Côte d’Ivoire, South Africa, Guinea, France, Cape Verde, Ireland and France, among others. 
In order to ensure the best results in the competition, the Cameroonian judokas began an external training session on September 27, 2021. The athletes took part in a qualification tournament in Douala on October 23, 2021. The tournament served as preparation for the Judo Africa Open. For now, South Africa and Congo who are already in the country have also begun training. The other delegations were expected to arrive in the country yesterday November 4, 2021.
