At Work : Nsimalen International Airport Ready

The Minister of Transport inspected works at the infrastructure yesterday November 8, 2021 to evaluate the state of readiness ahead of the AFCON tournament.

From all indications, the Yaounde Nsimalen International Airports will be ready to receive the different delegations for the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations. The Minister of Transport, Jean Ernest Masena Ngalle Bibehe, was at the Nsimalen International Airport yesterday November 8, 2021 to evaluate the state of readiness of the infrastructure ahead of the upcoming AFCON tournament in Cameroon. The Minister was accompanied by the Governor of the Centre Region, Narseri Paul Bea, the Prefect of Mefou and Afamba Division, Thierry Kin Nou, officials of the region and other invitees. 
On arrival at the airport, the Minister had a working session with the officials of the airport. The Minister then had a guided tour of the infrastructure. Minister Ngale Bibehe’s inspection visit began from the departure terminal to the arrival. He visited the different sectors and the renovation works going on in the VIP lounge reserved for the Confederation of African Football (CAF). At the end of the visit, the Minister expressed satisfaction with the level of preparations in the airport. He said he is happy to notice that the heavy works are at the finishing stage. Minister Ngale Bibehe reminded the airport officials on the need to accelerate work in order to respect the deadline. He said the AFCON is a festive moment and that decorations at the airport must be visible. The Minister promised to return between November 15 and 20, 2021 to ensure that all the instructions given are respected.
