CAF Confederation Cup : Coton Sport Eying Group Phase

After a goalless draw with Mauritania’s FC Nouadhibou, the Garoua boys were expected to arrive Douala in the early hours of today to begin preparing for the second leg game.

Coton Sport of Garoua is very close to reaching the group phase of the 2021 CAF Confederation Cup. This was after they succeeded to hold Mauritania’s FC Nouadhibou in a goalless draw on November 28, 2021 in Mauritania. The match counted for the first leg of the final preliminary round of the CAF Confederation Cup.  This result, though not excellent, puts the Garoua boys on a better position given that they held their opponents on their soil. The first challenge of this phase has been tackled and now the Cotonites are already looking at the return leg which is more challenging. 
With the return leg game slated for December 5, 2021 at the Reunification stadium in Douala, Coach Souleymanou Aboubakar and his boys left the Mauritanian soil yesterday November 29, 2021 en route to Cameroon’s economic capital. They were expected to touch down in Douala in the early house of today November 30, 2021 to begin training. We learned that they will be having a training session today at 3 p.m at the Bepanda Annexe stadium. The objective will be to correct the errors of the previous encounter and get a win. With a 0-0 draw, it was evident that the attack line was lacking. The defence was fine given that they were able to keep the host off the score sheet for the entire game.
