The team that will be participating in the AFCON for the second time in history has been pooled in Group F alongside Gambia, Tunisia and Mali.

The Mourabitounes of Mauritania will be one of the new brooms in the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). This will be their second consecutive time to pick a spot in Africa’s highest football showpiece after their 2019 expedition in Egypt. They qualified thanks to an away 1-0 victory over Central African Republic. Mauritania scored in the encounter thanks to Aboubakar Kamara.
Though they are novices, they will not just be coming to mingle with the bigwigs and go away. They are equally coming to tell the world that they deserve a spot in the competition.
