Burkina Faso Ethiopia : Stallions Qualify for Round Two

They drew 1-1 with the Walya of Ethiopia in their last group A game yesterday at the Bafoussam Omnisports Stadium.

The Stallions of Burkina Faso played a 1-1 tie with the Walya of Ethiopia yesterday January 17, 2022 to qualify for the second round of the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). The match counted for the third playing day in group A at ongoing 33rd edition of the competition. 
As early as 1:00 p.m., fans were at the south entrance of the stadium waiting for Covid-19 test results. They all had tickets in their hands offered by the elite of the West Region. It was a thrilling encounter that kept spectators on their feet throughout the match encouraging the players. A total of 7,000 spectators watched the match. 
The Stallions of Burkina Faso began by dominating the game from the start. Burkina Faso had several opportunities but they squandered them. The Walya of Ethiopia fought back but they lacked experience as compared to their adversaries. Both teams separated at half time on a 1-0 score margin in favour of Burkina Faso.
