Egypt-Sudan : Match Of Two Extremes

Separated by just two points in Group D, both nations play their last group game today at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde.

The Pharaohs of Egypt and Sudan known as the Falcons of Jediane, go head-to-head today January 19, 2022 at the Ahmadou Ahidjo stadium in Yaounde. The neighbouring countries are meeting at 8 p.m. within the framework of their third and last Group D fixture of the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON). Egypt, who are the most decorated nation on the continent with a record of seven AFCON titles, are currently second in Group D, two points above Sudan and three behind Nigeria.
While a share of spoils will take the Pharaohs through to the knockout stages, the Falcons of Jediane need to secure all three points to raise their point tally to four. Egypt only managed to get their first three points during a hard-earned 1-0 win over a resilient Guinea-Bissau. This was after they had been conspicuously beaten 1-0 by a robust Nigerian side in their first group fixture. Today, Mohamed Salah and mates will have to step up their game and avoid defeat to book a place in the round of 16.
