Mobilisation : Population Increasingly Flooding Stadiums

The timid attendance of the first day long gave way to strong interest in the competition as turnout has been improving in all the six sites hosting the 24-nation tournament.

As the days go by, the public in Yaounde, Bafoussam, Limbe, Douala and Garoua are increasingly getting more interested in watching beautiful matches in different stadiums hosting AFCON matches. In the beginning, the turnout of the public to watch the matches was timid. Things have changed and there are brighter prospects as the competition evolves. 
Ever since the President of the Republic instructed the readjustment of work time in public sector educational establishments and administrations so as to give the population time to take part in the competition, turnout in stadiums has been progressively impressive.
Any visitor who came to Bafoussam on the first day of the competition in the city went home with the impression that people in the city are not interested in watching football matches. Since the second playing day of the competition in group B, huge crowds have been flooding the Kouekong Stadium in every match. During the second playing day on January 14, 2022, a total of 8, 177 spectators were at the Kouekong Stadium to watch the two matches of the day. Also, during the third playing day on January 18, 2022, 11, 500 spectators attended.
