Burkina Faso- Gabon : Ismahila Ouedraogo Qualifies Stallions

The match ended in a prolongation with Burkina Faso carrying the day with seven penalties scored against six for Gabon.

A nineteenth minute goal by the Stallion’s key attacker, number 10 shirted Bertrand Traore, put Burkina Faso ahead of Gabon by one nil until half time. The 8th finals match of AFCON TotalEnergies played at the Limbe Omnisports Stadium produced a lot of fireworks with Burkina Faso missing an early penalty through a cross bar intercepted kick by Bertrand Traore.  The stallions of Burkina Faso became more virile than the Panthers as they coordinated their play and targeted many more times at Gabon’s goal post.
Gabon took some revenge and netted a ball that was cancelled by the central referee on grounds that Aaron Salem Boupendza was off sight.
Central referee, Redoune Jiyed from Morroco masterly marched in both teams for resumption. Both sides multiplied misses. Irritated by Burkina Faso’s one goal lead, Gabon’s Sidney Evrard caused a nervous fowl and was shown a red card, 25 minutes into second half.
