Cameroon-Egypt : Clash Of Titans

The most titled meets today February 3, 2022 at the Olembe stadium in the semi-finals of the ongoing 2021 AFCON.

Cameroon's hopes of home success at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) will undergo a first serious cross-examination as they take on Egypt in the semi-finals today February 3, 2022, 8 p.m. at the Olembe stadium. It is a battle of titans given that the Pharaohs of Egypt are the most crowned nation on the continent with seven AFCON titles and are closely followed by the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon with five. This makes a total of 12 AFCON titles battling for a spot in the final at the Cameroon’s newly constructed jewel. 
According to statistics, this will be the 11th AFCON encounter between Egypt and Cameroon, no two teams have met on more occasions in the competition’s history.  Egypt have won three of their last four AFCON games against Cameroon. The teams’ most recent meeting was in the final of the 2017 AFCON in Libreville, Gabon and saw Cameroon claim a 2-1 win. Will history repeat itself?  A question which will only be answered after today’s game.
The Pharaohs of Egypt could however be classified as Cameroon’s toughest opponent since the competition began. The Pharaohs already made clear their championship-winning potential by getting past Côte d’Ivoire and Morocco in their last two matches.
