Green Energy : Cameroon, Britain Discuss Raising Production

The Minister of Water Resources and Energy, Gaston Eloundou Essomba on February 2, 2022 met the British High Commissioner to Cameroon, Dr Christian Dennys McClure.

Cameroon is living up to its commitment at the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference, COP26 in Glasgow, Scotland by planning to increase its renewable energy production. This was one of the issues discussed when the Minister of Water Resources and Energy, Gaston Eloundou Essomba on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 in Yaounde met the British High Commissioner to Cameroon, His Excellency Dr Christian Dennys McClure.
“We talked about Cameroon’s ambition to carbonize its electricity grid, which is an important part of the country’s development strategy. This also forms part of Cameroon’s commitment to reduce carbon emissions that was made at the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Scotland in 2021,” the High Commissioner said.
