Vincent Aboubakar: The Goal Hero

Vincent Aboubakar is the goal hero in the 33rd edition of the TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations. The former FC Porto striker was at the forefront of Cameroon’s third place victory over the Stallions of Burkina Faso on Saturday February 5, 2022.  Cameroon was 3-0 down before halftime but Aboubakar turned the tables around during the second half. He came in to the game as a replacement player and with 18 minutes remaining, he scored a brace to draw level 3-3 and Cameroon beat Burkina Faso 5-3 after penalty kicks.
Saudi Arabia-based Aboubakar scored the first penalty during the penalty shout-out. In all Vincent Aboubakar scored eight goals in the competition. His two goals in the 85th and 87th minutes assured Cameroon’s come back and brought pride to the country.
