SMEs, Handicraft, Home Economics: Cameroon, Tunisia Broaden Cooperation Areas

The Minister of Small and Medium-size Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicraft on February 8, 2022 held talks with the Tunisian Ambassador to Cameroon.

Cameroon and Tunisia on July 6, 2006 signed an agreement on Small and Medium-size Enterprises. This was followed on March 24, 2016 by a deal on handicraft cooperation. Both agreements seek to encourage experience and information-sharing on handicraft, and publications on the subject. They also handle handicraft training and competiveness, and the identification and promotion of new handicraft areas by both countries.
As follow-up to these agreements, the Minister of Small and Medium-size Enterprises, Social Economy and Handicraft, MINPMEESA, Achille Bassilekin III, on Tuesday, February 8, 2022 in Yaounde met with the Tunisian Ambassador to Cameroon, His Excellency Karim Ben Becher. “We discussed areas of cooperation that could boost ties between Tunisia and Cameroon. These include handicraft, exchanges between crafts people from the two countries and training,” Ambassador Karim Ben Becher told journalists after the meeting.
