Cameroonians Fete Their Youth

Public celebrations are going on all over the country this Friday, February 11, 2022 as Cameroonians youth mark the 56th National Youth Day.

After the interruption caused by the Coronavirus, Covid-19 pandemic, youth across the country are today celebrating their day with public activities like march past, athletics, sketches, drama and dance competitions.
The celebration of the 56th National Youth Day follows the traditional nationwide broadcast to youth by the Head of State, His Excellency President Paul Biya on the eve. In last evening’s address, the President called on youths to strive to preserve the achievements of peace, national unity and institutional stability. He urged them to turn a deaf ear to calls for destabilization and antagonism, reminding them of their role to preserve the country’s positive image both at home and abroad.
The youths, President Biya further stated, should take advantage of digital technology that offers wonderful opportunities for startups. The Head of State advised youth to use the social media responsibly by shunning hate speech...
