Union of Douala : FCFA 30 Million Raised To Rejuvenate Club Activities

A new management of the football association has been constituted, led by Prince Emmanuel Ngassa Happi, as president.

Legendary Cameroonian club, Union Sportive of Douala, have buried the hatchet that rocked the football team and discussed the way forward ahead of the new football season on Sunday, February 13, 2022, at the New Bell neighbourhood where the club was created in 1958. Dubbed “Reconciliation congress,” the discussions of last weekend rallied footballers, supporters and fans of the football club in order to chart a way forward following the poor performance that saw the club finish as one of the bottom sides in the championship. During the congress FCFA 15 million was raised and it was announced that the Douala II Council has supported the club with FCFA 15 million. The amount will be used to rejuvenate club activities including strengthening footballers for victories in the new season.
President of the provisional management committee, Polycarpe Kenmogne, outlined his ambitions for the new season in his opening remarks, as he led the reconciliation in view of stabilising the team in the Elite I: “I took on the heavy responsibility of inviting all the former presidents that you rightly or wrongly ousted. I invited everyone who hadn't come here before. I wish someone in this room who hasn't made mistakes would raise their finger. I do it every day, including God. And that is why he challenges us by asking us to forgive those who have offended us.
