MTN Elite One : Djiko FC, YOSA Share Spoils

Both teams played a 0-0 tie during a group A match that took place in Douala on Friday April 8, 2022.

The match pitting Djiko FC of Bandjoun and Yong Sports Academy (YOSA) of Bamenda which was part of day seven matches of the MTN Elite One championship ended in a goalless draw in Douala. The match that took place at the Bepanda Omnisports Stadium on Friday, April 8, 2022 saw YOSA dominating throughout the encounter. Several attempts from team captain, Emmanuel Keanyi Tengemo yielded no fruits. Djiko FC which was more on the defensive had very few chances to get to the YOSA goalpost. Throughout the match, both teams put up their best but the goals were not forthcoming.
At the end of the Match, YOSA head coach Nkabyo Martin regretted that they couldn’t carry the day. He said he was aware that the game was going to be a difficult one but was hopeful that they could accomplish a win. He praised his boys for putting up a good show although they never scored. He admitted that they had a lot of work to do in the attack line. He said it is difficult for them to recover completely owing that they are playing every two days. He acknowledged that Djiko FC was more physical which affected their game plan.
Coach Nkabyo Martin hopes that as they will be moving to Yaounde for the next round they will be better in performance as the climate in Douala did not also favour them given that they were coming from a very cold zone and had very little time to acclimatize.
