Book Launch : Organisation of Sports Competitions Reviewed

Through this book the authors wish to bring their contribution to the development of sports in general and football in particular on the African continent.

The organisation of the Africa Cup of Nations tournament has always been faced with difficulties for diverse reasons in nearly all countries. The successful organisation of the 2021 TotalEnergies Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon was not without some lapses. The problems faced by Cameroon in the organisation of the continental event are being re-examined in a book titled “Reussir L’organisation des competitions Sportives en Afrique. Cas de la Coupe d’Afrique des Nations de football.” by three Cameroonian authors namely Ghislain Modeste Onomo Onomo, Victor Saidou and Emmanuel Bakena. A ceremony to officially launch the book took place in Yaounde on April 1, 2022. 
The book focuses more on the difficulties faced by Cameroon in the organisation of the continental event in order to make recommendations so that the implementation will from now on ensure a better organisation of the competition. The authors addressed several aspects linked to the organisation of a continental competition such as sports infrastructure, satisfaction of users of these sports infrastructure, behaviour of spectators and their contribution in the maintenance of the stadiums, management of human resources, spinoff of the event in the domain of transport, lodging and the creation of employment, direct economic consumption of visitors, the cost and social lost obs...
