YouthConnekt : Promoting Innovation

The programme that is gradually coming to an end is aimed at bringing out the best in Cameroonian youths.

The Minister of Youth Affairs and Civic Education, Mounouna Foutsou, has called on young Cameroonians benefiting from the Youth Connekt programme to use the opportunity and bring out their best talents. Minister Mounouna Foutsou was speaking in Douala on Saturday, July 23, 2022 at the closing ceremony of the Boot Camp and Champions awards component activity for the Littoral and South West regions. In his words, Minjec placed youth development at the top of its development programming with the YouthConnekt Bootcamp and Awards initiative “which aims at connecting youth to socio-economic opportunities”. He reminded the youths that they can shine more through their creativity and innovation while encouraging them to use the programme and harness their potential so as to improve their livelihood.
After two years of implementation, the Minister said the programme has recorded telling achievements over six hundred thousand youths out of the one million expected nationwide have been trained in different entrepreneurial skills. He said the programme has 4 pools and the best will be selected from each pool thereafter they will exhibit in Yaoundé during the anniversary of the project in December.
