Group H : Ghana Reignite Hopes With Win

A 3-2 victory over South Korea yesterday brought the Black Stars’ tournament back on track.

Mohammed Kudus was at the double as the Black Stars of Ghana beat South Korea 3-2 last evening at the Education City Stadium to get their 2022 FIFA World Cup campaign back on track.
It is South Korea who had all the control in the first twenty minutes of the game but Ghana were clinical, racing to a two-goal lead in the first half. Against the run of play, it was Muhammed Salisu(24’) who gave the Black Stars the lead as he bundled home the ball following a scramble in the South Korean penalty area. Ten minutes later, Mohammed Kudus doubled (34’) Ghana’s lead after heading home Jordan Ayew’s cross as the Black Stars led two nil at half time.
After looking composed for larger parts of the game, the Black Stars momentarily took their foot off the pedal and were made to pay for this with two quick fire goals through Cho Gue Song (58’, 61’).
