CHAN 2023 : Intermediate Lions Earmark Strategies

Some 23 players are fine-tuning their skills at the CAF Excellence Centre in Mbankomo ahead of the competition.

The seventh edition of the TotalEnergies CHAN 2023 will take place in Algeria from January 12 to Saturday February 4, 2023. Ahead of the competition, players of the Intermediate Lions team are in camp at the CAF Execellence Centre in Mbankomo near Yaounde where they are fine-tuning their skills. For the past one week, the players are training under the supervision of head coach Alioum Saidou. The coach and the players are working out winning strategies in order to ensure the best result in the competition. The players effectively began training on Tuesday December 13, 2022 in the playgrounds of the CAF Excellence Centre. Training takes place twice daily. During their training session, the Intermediate Lions will play several friendly matches with some teams in the national championship before heading for Algeria. 
Out of the 30 players invited by Coach Alioum Saidou, only 23 began training in Mbankomo on Monday December 12, 2022. Jerome Ngom and Marou Souaibou who are just back from the Qatar World Cup are uncertain. Marou Souaibou, it is alleged, will be joining Orlando Pirates of South Africa.
