South West : Nurse Anesthetists Seek Ways Of Improving Healthcare

Nurse anesthetists from all the ten regions of Cameroon have improved their knowledge in their trade during an information sharing conference with Association Cameroon Nurse Anesthetists in America (ACNAA). This was during the second edition of Cameroon Conference of Nurse Anesthetists that ran from December 13 to 16, 2022 in the Faculty of Health Sciences in the University of Buea. The over 16 presentations focused on hands on experience and how patients should be safe during and after a surgery. The nurse anesthetists shared knowledge on airway management techniques, cardiac arrhythmias, effect team dynamics, basic principles of ultrasound, peripheral nerves blocks, neuraxial anesthesia among others.
Dr. Edwin N. Aroke, President of ACNAA, said their goal is to impact best of knowledge on their Cameroon counterparts as over time they realised that knowledge is one of the things one can help a group of people to grow. “Knowledge is the only way one can sustain change in a system.
