Fish, Poultry Production : Minister Encourages Private Initiatives

This was during a two day working visit to the Littoral region on December 27 and 28.


The Minister of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industry, Dr. Taiga, has urged fish and poultry farmers in the Littoral region to step up the production and commercialization of fish and fishery products, as well as poultry and its products. The Minister was speaking in Douala on December 27 and 28 during a two-day working visit. 
For two days, the Minister visited the Aquaculture Revolution International (Aquarin) fish pond in Bomono, in Dibombari Subdivision (in the Moungo division), Aquaculture de MAVECAM in Petit Dibamba, Dizangue as well as the Ferm Avicole COFSARL in Missole in Dibamba, both in the Sanaga-Maritime Division, where he expressed satisfaction with the level of production of their products.
While at Aquarin, the promoter, Haman Abdoulaye, like the other promoters, thanked the Minister for the opportunity. They all said that their initiatives were out to satisfy the growing need of fish and poultry products in Cameroon while adding that it is also out to help in the reduction of the quantity of fish and poultry imported by the country.
