MTN Elite One : UMS Unseats Colombe

In group A, the Littoral-based club currently leads the standings with 17 points after day 10 matches played on December 28, 2022. In Group B, Bamboutos remains unbeaten.

The top seat in Group A of the ongoing Elite One Championship is occupied by UMS of Loum with 17 points. The club from the Littoral region displaced Colombe Sportive of Dja and Lobo after day 10 matches played on December 28, 2022 across the country. UMS topped the charts after beating Eding 1-0. They thus become the second side to win five matches after Bamboutos of Mbouda. UMS will have to buoyantly play it out against a stubborn Djiko side this Saturday, December 31, 2022 on match day 11 if they wish to continue on winning ways.
Coton Sport moved up to the second position in the standings with 16 points after grounding PWD of Bamenda 2-1. It was the first win for Coton Sport after two successive draws as they limp with a majority of their players away for the African Nations Championship preparations. Displaced Colombe moved down to the third position after succumbing to Renaissance FC 1-2 in one of the most electrifying fixtures of match day 10. Renaissance recovered from conceding a second minute goal, equalised and scored the winner seconds before the referee could blow the end of the encounter. On match day 11 this Saturday, Renaissance may have an easy ride over PWD of Bamenda that continue to sink as they seat in the relegation zone with seven points.
