Youth Day Preparation : Committees Constituted

This was during the first preparatory meeting of the 57th edition of the National Youth Day in the Littoral region.

The Littoral region is bracing up for a successful celebration of the 2023 national youth day. This was evident during the first preparatory meeting of the 57th edition of the national youth day to be celebrated on the 11th of February 2023. The preparatory meeting that took place at the Littoral Governor’s on January 18th saw the putting in place of 10 different committees to ensure that this year’s edition ends in pomp and pageantry.
While presiding over the preparatory meeting, the Inspector General in the Littoral Governor’s office, Simplice Herve Kengne, reminded stakeholders that the youth day is a day to honour the youths and to remind them of their civic responsibility, adding that it is also a day for youth to reflect on their participation in the development and progress of Cameroon. In effect, he went on, all must put hands on deck to ensure that the youth succeed in their endeavours.  He regretted that this year’s celebration is coming at a time when hate speech, un-civic behaviour, drug consumption, and a fall in moral standard has gripped the young generation, as such he urged all to mobilise and sensitise the youths on the dangers of moral ills. The Inspector General in the Littoral Governor’s office Simplice Herve Kengne equally requested the different committee members to work tirelessly to ensure that the celebration is successful.
