CAF Champions League : Coton Sport Intensifies Preparations

Ahead of the upcoming games, the Garoua team is training hard in order to ensure an honourable performance this season.

The 2023 CAF Champions League season is ongoing. Coton Sport of Garoua, Cameroon’s lone representative in the competition is equally one of the old clubs in the competition. Coton Sport were finalists in 2008, 2013 and the 2017. Coton Sport will be meeting old friends in the competition like Al Ahly of Egypt, Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa and Al Hilal of Sudan. It is a tough task ahead for the Garoua club that is preparing for two major encounters in the Champions League in one week. 
For the group stages, Coton Sport will begin the competition with their first game against Mamelodi Sundowns of South Africa on Friday February 17, 2023 at the Roumde Adjia Stadium at 4:00 p.m. Mamelodi Sundowns are leaders in group B with three points after one match played. The boys of President Fernand Sadou, started their final preparations for this encounter on Monday, February 13, 2023 at the Coton Sport Stadium in Ngalbidje, Garoua. The players are training under the supervision of the head coach, Gabriel Haman. The objective is to do better than last year’s edition. The technical bench is ensuring that the players master the rules of the game in order to avoid any errors come Friday February 17, 2023.  Meanwhile, the first round matches of the 2022-2023 Champions League kicked off last weekend. Raja of Casablanca beat Vipers of Uganda 5-0 in their first game.
