Diaspora : Vincent Aboubakar Opens Goal Bank At Besiktas

Since his return to the club, the Indomitable Lions captain scored his first goal over the weekend. Choupo Moting, Ganago, Tawamba and Namaso were equally on target.


Indomitable Lions Captain, Vincent Aboubakar has finally scored his first goal since returning to Turkish side, Besiktas in January. He scored the winner in Besiktas’ 2-1 win over Ankaragucu in match day 23 of the Turkish top flight on Sunday March 5, 2023. Before this goal, the Cameroonian skipper had gone for four matches since his return to the club with no goal. In fact, the club had been a shadow of itself, recording just two wins in their last five matches. Speaking after the goal, the striker is quoted to have said, “It was nice to score. We all get so sad when we can’t win. We know we have to work hard to fix this. Our goal is win every match”. 
Elsewhere, Choupo-Moting who is in top form scored his 16th goal in all competitions for Bayern this season in the club’s 2-1 win over Stuttgart in match day 23 of the German top tier. It was Choupo-Moting’s 17th league game of the season with 10 league goals and two assists.
