Tchoukball : New Season Opens In Douala

The first playing day of the competition took place on Saturday February 25, 2023.

The platform of the Collège Ngounou in Bonaberi, in the Douala IV Subdivision was the venue of the kick off of the 2023 sports season for Tchoukball in Cameroon on Saturday February 25, 2023. Organised by the Cameroon Tchoukball Association, the competition brought together 18 teams from different poles across the country. It was an opportunity for the inhabitants of Douala to discover new techniques in the sports. It was equally an opportunity for other young aspirants to develop more interest in the sport. The athletes competed in the men’s and women’s categories. At the end of the competition, Vogt Tchoukball Club of Yaounde emerged winners in the men’s category. In the women’s competition Newbell Tchoukball were the champions. 
The President of the Cameroon Tchoukball Association, Dr. Jean Francis Gwade expressed satisfaction with the performance of the teams and the massive turn out of the public to watch the encounters. “About 2,000 spectators admired the prowess of the athletes who showed very impressive combinations,” he said. 
The new season opened ahead of major sports activities on the calendar of the Tchoukball Association. These include the unity tournament in May, the beach tchkouball in July in Kribi and most especially the Tchoukball World Championship that will take place in Prague in the Czech Republic from July 31 to August 5, 2023.
