Four Teams, One Crown!

Coton Sport of Garoua, Canon of Yaounde, Bamboutos of Mbouda and Gazelle of Garoua will be seeking for the title during the play-offs that will begin on May 14, 2023 in Douala.

The 2022-2023 title and relegation play-offs of the national Elite One championship will take place in Douala from May 14 to 21, 2023. Four teams will be vying for the national championship title. They are Coton Sport of Garoua, Canon of Yaounde, UMS of Loum and Gazelle of Garoua. The competition will be played in a format of a championship. It will be a tough challenge for all the teams as each side will be out to win the title. 
Coton Sport of Garoua qualified for the Elite One play-offs after a difficult start of season. During the first part of the season, the Garoua club was out of the race all along the line. Even when resuming the return leg, Coton Sport continued to sink. The current champions of Cameroon qualified for the play-offs after their narrow victory (1-0) against Stade Renard of Melong during the 22nd playing day thanks to a goal from Patient Wassou Goue. The Garoua Club waited only on the last day of the championship to pick their qualification ticket. Coton Sport finished the championship with 38 points. The dream of the Garoua club is to retain their title. 
Canon of Yaounde cemented its place in the play-offs after the club thrashed Colombe of Dja and Lobo 5-0 during the last playing day at the Ngoa-Ekelle Stadium on April 30, 2023. Canon qualified at the detriment of UMS of Loum who were heled on 2-2 draw by Djiko FC of Bandjoun. They finished on the second spot with two points behind Coton Sport of Garoua.
