International Friendlies : Cameroon To Face Mexico In June

The match will serve as preparation for the crucial AFCON qualifier against Burundi in September this year.

The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon will face Mexico in an international friendly game in next month. The information was confirmed by the Communications Department of the Mexican Football Federation on Friday May 5, 2023. According to the announcement from the Mexican Football Federation, game will serve as part of matches for the June 2023 session of the MexTour. The El Tri of Mexico are scheduled to face the Indomitable Lions of Cameroon on June 10, 2023 at the 35,000 seater Snapdragon Stadium in California. It will be El Tri's first match in the venue that opened in August 2022. 
The match will be the third meeting of the two nations. Cameroon last played against Mexico in June 2014 during the FIFA World Cup in Brazil where Cameroon was beaten 1-0. The Lions suffered the same fate during the first meeting in an international friendly in 1993. The 2021 Africa Cup of Nations bronze medalists are not involved in the 2023 tournament qualifiers during the June window, hence providing an opportunity for the Indomitable Lions to play friendly matches.
