African Boxing Championship : Cameroonian Boxers Brace Up

About 60 boxers are training in Yaounde and Douala ahead of the competition.

Cameroonian boxers are bracing up ahead of the 2023 African Boxing Championship that will take place from June 15 to 25, 2023 at the Yaounde Multipurpose Sports Complex. The competition is organised by the African Boxing Confederation (AFBC) and will bring together the best athletes on the continent. Ahead of the competition, preparations have reached high gear in the country. Presently, Cameroonian boxers are undergoing two external training camps in Yaounde and Douala to fine-tune their skills. The training sessions began on May 25, 2023. 
In Yaounde, 35 boxers are training under the supervision of the coach of the national boxing team, Didier Ngatcha while in Douala, the athletes are being trained by the national technical director, Mounyemo Jean Paul.  About 60 boxers are training in Yaounde and Douala ahead of the competition.  The boxers are from abroad as well. The internal training session will start as from June 3, 2023 and will run till the kick off of the competition.  At the end of the internal training session, 25 boxers (13 men and 12 women) will be selected to represent Cameroon in the competition.
