Tennis Billie Jean King Cup : Cameroon On Good Footing

The national women’s tennis team has recorded some victories at the ongoing World Cup competition in Kigali that kicked off on June 5, 2023.

The national women’s tennis team is in Kigali, Rwanda where they are participating in the tennis World Cup. The Tennis Billie Jean King Cup Kigali 2023 zone Africa Group IV brings together 11 teams from the continent. The competition is taking place at the IPRC Kigali/Ecology Tennis Club in Kigali, Rwanda. After falling to Madagascar 2-1 in their first outing on Monday June 5, 2023, the tennis Lionesses beat the Red Devils of Congo 3-0 sets in two singles matches and one doubles match in their second game on Tuesday, June 6, 2023. Cameroon’s international player, Linda Eloundou set the ball rolling, beating her opponent Tricia Bakouboula (6-0, 6-0). Her twin sister, Manuella Eloundou followed her footsteps, beating Marie Noel Ondongo 6-0, 6-0. In the doubles match, the pair Linda and Venus Hagal beat Tricia Boukouboula and Melissa Logeat. 
In their second outing on June 7, 2023, Cameroon beat Lesotho 2-0. Yesterday June 8, 2023 Linda Eloundou beat Wantona Bunkuta C. of the DR Congo 2-0 (6-1, 6-0) and Job K beat Onya A 2-0 (6-0, 6-0) in the singles at Hardcourt Indoor.
