2023 Cycling Tour of Cameroon : El Kouraji Mohcine Winner

The Moroccan cyclists won the yellow jersey in the competition which ended with the eighth lap Bafia-Yaounde yesterday June 11, 2023 in a cumulated time of 20h35’52”.

El Kouraji Mohcine of the Moroccan National team is the winner of this year’s edition of the International Cycling Tour of Cameroon which ended yesterday June 11, 2023. He maintained the prestigious yellow jersey which honours the best cyclist on the general classification after the last lap of the competition from Bafia to Yaounde. He is 1’14” ahead of second-placed fellow teammate; El Arbaoui Adil. El Kouraji Mohcine takes over from Rwanda’s Moise Mugisha who won the last edition of the race.
The 118km Bafia-Yaounde lap was as competitive as the other laps of the competition.  The peloton took-off in Bafia with a lot of determination. Break aways were made during the course. At around “deuxieme carrefour Obala, four cyclists led the peloton with two of them being Cameroonians. They included Rodrigue Eric Kuere Nounawe and Yaou Gadji. As the race progressed they were overtaken. 
Cameroon’s Clovis Kamzong Abossolo of SNH Velo Club got Cameroonians on their feet as he neared the arrival line at Club Camtel in Yaaunde. But before he could cross, he was overtaken by Morocco’s Ed Doghmy Achraf who won the lap in 2h57’26”.
