Motorbikes Agricultural Production : For Divisional Delegates

They were offered on Wednesday, June 14, to facilitate movement in the hinterlands.


Accessibility to most farms in the Littoral region often is very difficult as most farms cannot be accessed by vehicles. As a result, 23 motorbikes have been handed to Divisional Delegates of agriculture in the region. The bikes will go a long way to help the different divisional delegates and agricultural post heads to be able to move to farms and other agricultural posts in the region with ease. With the extension and policy of import-substitution, there is need to get closer to farmers and increase production, so as to reduce the importation of some of the food items that Cameroon usually imports.
While handing over the bikes to the Divisional Delegates on June 14 in Douala, the Regional Delegate of Agriculture and Rural development for the Littoral region, Konde Jean Claude, said they are out to give the divisional delegates the means, so as to provide all the support to the farmers in other to improve production.
