Cycling: Tella, Mariole Fedjio, Champions

The 2023 finals of the national cycling championship took place along the streets of Yaounde on Sunday July 9, 2023.

I t was a special day for lovers of cycling in Yaounde and its environs on Sunday July 9, 2023. The event was the finals of the national cycling championship that took place along the streets of the capital city. Organised by the Cameroon Cycling Federation (FECACYCLIME), the competition brought together cyclists from clubs across the country. The competition unfolded in the junior, senior men’s and women’s categories. The senior men’s category competed over a distance of 100km in 25 rounds. The women’s race covered a distance of 60km in 15 rounds and the junior category was 80km long in 20 rounds. At the end of the competition, Artuce Tella from the SNH Vélo Club emerged winner in the senior men’s category finishing the 100km race in 2h51’20” with an average speed of 35,010km/ph. He was followed by his team mates from SNH Vélo Club, Clovis Kamzong Abossolo in 2h51’40” and Yao Gadji in 2h52’01”. In the junior category, Toko Eddi Stephan from SNH Vélo Club finished the 80km race in 2h26’24” with an average speed of 32, 78 km/ph ahead of Tchumtchoua Marc from the West Region (2 h 34’ 01”).In the women’s category, Mariole Kengne Feudjio from the West Region was the first in 2h20’56” with an average speed of 25, 543 km/ph.
