National Handball Championship: Final Eight Teams Known

The first and second days of the competition took place in stadiums and gymnasiums across the country last weekend.

The teams qualified for the final eight tournament of the national Elite Handball championship are now known. In the women’s category, the teams are FAP Yaounde, TKC Yaounde, Dynamique of Bokito, Dreams Sport of Douala, FANZ Yaounde, Diva of Bafoussam, YUC Yaounde and Tigresses of Batchenga. For the men, the teams are FAP Yaounde, FANZ Yaounde, DUC of Dschang, Dreams Sport Douala, Soliel Levant of Bertoua, Friendship Yaounde, Spartiat of Yaounde and University of Buea. On Saturday July 8, 2023 Dreams Sport fell before FANZ Yaounde 23-7 at the Stade Ngodi Akwa in Douala. In the men catery, Dreams Sport of Douala lost to Friendship Yaounde 30-25. In Dschang, DUC of Dschang beat University of Buea 31-20 at the University of Dschang Stadium. In Bertoua at the Tigaza Sports Complex, Soliel Levant beat Spartiat Yaounde 31-20. In Yaounde Madagascar, YUC Yaounde drew 23-23 with Dynamique de Bokito at the Madagascar Stadium. TKC of Yaounde beat Tigresses of Batchenga 38-19. On Sunday, at Ngodi Akwa Stadium in Douala Divas of Bafoussam beat Dreams of Douala 26-20. In the men’s category, Dreams of Douala, beat University of Buea 20-17. In Yaounde FAP beat YUC of Yaounde 38-23. Dynamique of Bokito beat Tigresses of Batchenga 34-26. In Bertoua, Soliel Levant lost to FANZ Yaounde 26-18.
