Athletics Cup of Cameroon : AIA, INJS Are Winners

The finals of the Cup of Cameroon and the national Interclubs championship took place at the Olembe Annex B Stadium last weekend.

The Olembe Annex Stadium B was the venue of the sixth edition of the finals of the Cup of Cameroon and the 61st edition of the National Interclubs Athletics Championship that took place last weekend in Yaounde. Organised by the Cameroon Athletics Federation, the competition brought together clubs from across the country. It was an opportunity to detect talents and for other aspiring athletes to develop interest in the sport.  
For two days, the athletes competed in several disciplines in the track and field. Even though no national records were broken, the athletes put up remarkable performances in the competition. Prominent names feature in all the disciplines and also revelations in the discipline. In the women’s 100m, Kolle Etame Herverge (CAS) won the race in 11.80. Njuh Nsella Stephane (FAP) was second in 11.92 and Bell Bonong Irene was third in 12.15. The same athletes won the 200m with Kolle Etame finishing first in 24.11. In the men’s 200m, Ibrahima Hamayadji (AIA) was the first in 21.26. 
In the women’s 800m Mafogang Adele (INJS) finished the race in 2.17.73. In the men’s 800m Behod Jingar (AIA) won the race in 1.56.02. In the women’s 1500m, Bilo’o Sandra (MVL) won the race in 4.43.10. In the women’s 5000 m Ngong Sylveria (INJS) finished the race in 17.55.02 and in the men’s 5000 m Yainam André (VINA) won the race in 15.12.31. In the women’s high jump, Mafogang Adele jumped 1m65 high. ...
