Cameroon Athletics Challenge : Tchoupteg, Otomo Emerge Winners

The national competition took place in Yaounde on Sunday, July 30, 2023.

It was an exceptional day for adepts of athletics in Yaounde on Sunday July 30, 2023. The event was the national athletics competition called Cameroon Athletics Challenge. Organised by Tara Sports and Entertainment, the event brought together over 400 athletes from across the country. The competition unfolded in three disciplines; the 21km marathon, 10km race, 10km walk and the three kilometre race for athletes with disabilities. It was an opportunity for Yaounde inhabitants to discover new techniques athletics and also an opportunity to detect talents.
At the end of the competition, Tchoupteg T. Frank of Athletes in Action (AIA) Athletics Club in Yaounde won the semi marathon in 1h6’12”. Tchoupteg won the race in Bafoussam and in Douala. He was followed by Saidou in 1h07’14” and Pierre Tchogah in 1h10’15”. In the women’s competition, Otomo Sabine from FAP Athletics Club in Yaounde finished the race in 1h23’54”. Otomo equally won the race in Bafoussam recently. She was followed by Ngong Sylvera (INJS) in 1h25’21” and Che Christabel (1h23’54”). The men’s 10km race was won by Tchnida Yvano from the Littoral Region in 36’24”6. Metan Cornelius from the North West Region was second in 36’28”8 and Kamga Michel was third in 37’34”3. In the women’s 10km walk Kanila Nives finished the race in 1h18’09”41. In the men’s 10km walk Akamse Mbah Michel (FAP) won the race in 55’57”9. In the men’s wheelchair race Mohaman Aladji finished the race in 5’53”7. Touongo Phillipe was second in 5’53”9 and Nchetnkeu Jules was third in 6’13...
