FIBA Olympic Qualifiers 2024 : Cameroon Knows Opponents

Following the draw made on November 27, 2023, the team will play in Group B alongside Brazil and Montenegro.

 

The national men’s basketball team now knows their opponents for the 2024 Olympic qualifying tournament. The draw for the competition took place on Monday, November 27, 2023 in Switzerland. Four cities will host a total of 24 teams to vie for the final four spots. They are Piraeus (Greece), Riga (Latvia), San Juan (Puerto Rico) and Valencia (Spain). The 24 teams are divided into eight groups, with two groups in each of the four events, which will take place from July 2 to 7, 2024. Only the winner of each tournament will qualify, according to basketball's global governing body FIBA.
Cameroon will play in Riga, Latvia, in group B with Brazil and Montenegro. In group A, the teams are Georgia, Philippines and Latvia. Luol Deng, president of the South Sudan Basketball Federation, presided over the draw. South Sudan is the only African team to have already qualified for the Games, along with Germany, Serbia, Canada, the United States, Australia, Japan and host nation France.
