North West : FCFA 71.6 Billion For Regional Dev’t

- Some FCFA 71.6 billion have been allocated for development projects in the North West Region in the State budget for 2024 which stands at FCFA 6,740.1 billion. The information was made public during the launching of the 2024 State and Public Investment Budget-recently. 
Speaking in the ceremony which took place at the conference hall of the Regional Delegation of Economy, Planning and Regional Development, the head of Mission, Njie Thomas Kinge, who happens to be the Director of North-South Cooperation at the ministry, said they are aiming at a one hundred per cent execution rate this year, hence the need for all stakeholders to work in synergy and take ownership of the projects and procedure of the execution of the budget. He stressed on the need for regular follow-up and consultation meetings to ensure the smooth and fruitful execution of the budget.
According to the Regional Delegate of MINEPAT, Chief Fotsop Dominic Yenai, there is an increase in the budget allocated to the North West from some FCFA  63 billion last year to the FCFA 71.6 billion, making an increase of about 17 per cent. He said the North West Region came third nationwide last year with an 84.4 per cent execution rate.
